Valued DNS Park Customer,
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for giving us the opportunity to provide your DNS Hosting solutions. We value all of our customers and recognize the responsibility you've given us to provide a secure, reliable DNS system for your domains.
In our continuous effort to increase the reliability and usability of our systems, we will be making some changes to the way our systems handle AXFR (zone transfer) requests to nameservers off of our network. All DNS Rescue customers, as well as any DNS Hosting customers that are running your own slave nameservers will be affected. Up to this point, all of our public nameservers have allowed AXFR requeststo and from authorized hosts. After October 17, 2008, our public nameservers will no longer allow zone transfers. Instead, we are centralizing our zone transfer process and implementing two AXFR-only nameservers. After October 17, 2008, the only servers that will accept zone transfer requests or send zone transfer requests will be:
xfr1.dnspark.net 207.58.144.109
xfr2.dnspark.net 74.86.17.184
Please add the above IPs to any ACLs you have in place for zone transfers to or from your servers. After October 17, 2008 you should remove the public nameserver IP addresses from your configuration.
If your system is configured to use TSIG for secure zone transfers, the default configuration, no action is required on your part.
